NZ Government’s $1.2 billion investment in Education Growth Plan
New Zealand’s national average pupil-teacher ratio (PTR) is 14 learners per full-time teacher equivalent (FTTE). This low ratio is important because giving learners focused and personal attention leads to better outcomes, which ultimately means a better future for your children.
How does New Zealand achieve this fantastic PTR? By proper planning, management, and support from the Government. In May 2019, the National Education Growth Plan (NEGP) was released to improve how the NZ Ministry of Education plans for and manages growth in the Education sector. This plan is supported by the largest investment ($1.2 billion) ever made by the New Zealand Government in school property.
The Ministry of Education continuously monitors school capacity across the country. The NEGP is a flexible, live document that forecasts the demand for student places based on regional analysis and catchment modeling. It is regularly updated and refined as forecasts change, growth patterns emerge, enrolment patterns, population projections, and large-scale developments.
This investment has long-term effects that will shape education for future generations. If you are ready to put your kids and their future first, please book a free one-on-one meeting with our team in Centurion.
