After submitting and processing an Active Investor Plus Visa application with Immigration NZ, a positive result is receiving "Approval in Principle" (AIP). Following AIP, the applicant must transfer funds to New Zealand and invest them in approved channels. If completed successfully by the end of the investment term, Permanent Resident Visas (PRVs) are granted, allowing the applicant and their family to reside in New Zealand permanently.

Growth Category: Funds may be invested into any of the following investment classes:

Direct investments approved by the NZ government
Managed funds approved by the NZ government
The investment must be made within 6 months from the date of Approval in Principle, with the option to apply for a one 6 month extension (12 months total)
The investment must be retained for 3 years
The applicant must spend a minimum of 21 days in NZ over the investment period
The applicant must complete a questionnaire about investment activity
The investment will be audited at 24 and 36 months

Balanced Category: Funds may be invested into any of the following investment classes:

Bonds

Listed equities
Philanthropy
Property development (new residential, new/existing commercial or industrial developments)
The investment must be made within 6 months from the date of Approval in Principle, with the option to apply for a one 6 month extension (12 months total)

Investment must be retained for 5 years
The applicant must spend a minimum of 105 days in NZ over the investment period (unless eligible for a reduction by investing above the minimum investment)
The applicant must complete a questionnaire about investment activity
The investment will be audited at 24 and 60 months
